OVERSLEPT - NO WORRIES
What do you do if you overslept on a Sunday? Do you get up and go to church or do you go on sleeping. If I would ask R5 a story I would of been very rich. The story: "I woke up 30min before church, and realized I will not be in-time, so I stayed.
I have heard people that came late for church and because they are too shy to enter they turn around and went home.
David Vlok got a phone call from a friend asking him how things are going at the start line for the Comrades? He knew his alarm did not go off, and his friend who had to come and pick him up did not turn up. It was 4:45am and the race started at 5:30am. Now what would you do?
If it was church what would you have done? I know what a lot of people would have done.
But this guy, he got up and asked the hotel if they could take him to Pietermaritzburg, but they said no. He saw a old taxi outside and asked the man what he would change for a trip to there. He said R800. So the man said when the taxi driver gets back the hotel will pay him.
About 40km outside Durban the taxi ran out of gas. He crabbed R50 from the taxi driver and ran to the gas station to get gas. Finally he got to the starting point. But everybody was gone and the register guys were packed up. They said they could not help him. But he started to run and after 16 km he met the first people who also ran the comrades.
He finished the race the 11 hours and 13 minutes.
He explained the scenario to the judges and after a long struggle they gave him his time.
Will you go through this effort to go to church?
Heb 10:25 - "Not giving up our meetings, as is the way of some, but keeping one another strong in faith; and all the more because you see the day coming near."
Lord, my love for You drives me... Amen
