A MAN WITH THE NAME PAUL (2)
Paul had 3 passions in his life that driven him.
His Passion To Know Jesus
Phil. 3:10 - "That I may have knowledge of him, and of the power of his coming back from the dead, and a part with him in his pains, becoming like him in his death."
It is possible to have a lot of knowledge about God, but not know Him personally. Meaning it is possible to have a lot of Bible knowledge of God but you are not reborn. Job 42:5 - "Word of you had come to my ears, but now my eye has seen you." Today there is a lot of knowledge that you can get on the internet, TV and books. One of my pastor friends said that we are not able to make mistakes when we preach cause they people know all by searching the internet. Still with all the info there is, there is still people that do not know God. They have never met with Him personally. They have never allowed Him into their lives so that they can walk a path with Him. There is a huge difference to know Jesus and to know Him as your Savoir.
It is the "know" that Paul is talking about! The God that made Himself known to Paul on the Damascus road. He wanted to know that God more. Now that he was saved he wanted to get to know Jesus better. He wanted a relationship with Him:
* His Godly nature
* His Voice
* His Character
* His Faithfulness
His full denial work and the power in every aspect of His life. His infinite love.
How do you get to know someone better? You must spend time with him. You must have a conversation and do things with him. A few people in my church was just faces till I started to climb mountain with them.
That is why we as believers must spend time with God. We must read His Word and we must pray. Your whole life journey becomes a adventure with God. Not by hearing what others say, but by doing it yourself. Face to Face and mouth to Mouth.
Exodus 12:8 - " And let your food that night be the flesh of the lamb, cooked with fire in the oven, together with unleavened bread and bitter-tasting plants. " A life task and a calling.
Lord, it is also my longing to know you this way...Amen!!!
