The mountain climb session that Saturday morning was awesome like all the others. We prayed before we started and we were very cautious to not take changes. You look at the stones and make sure you step on the right places. To step on a loose rock is dangerous. You can get hurt. The Lord kept us safe.
Our worship team gathered at church to practice, so I went - guitar in the hand, songbooks, water bottle and I started to climb the steps, but when I got to the last one my foot tripped and I fell to the ground. Luckily no one arrived yet.
And just then the thought came to me. Was I aware like I was earlier on the mountain?
The lesson - I was not aware. You fall on a mountain, not in a church. And because I thought the church was save I was not aware.
1 Peter 5:8 - "Keep a cool head. Stay alert. The Devil is poised to pounce, and would like nothing better than to catch you napping. Our enemy is real and he is waiting for someone to stumble so that he can devour them, and who do he devour, the ones who is not aware.
Do not relax your vigilance. Specially not in this end time before Jesus returns. Live in deep dependence before God, and pray every day. Be prepared for His coming.
1 John 2:28 - "And now, children, stay with Christ. Live deeply in Christ. Then we'll be ready for him when he appears, ready to receive him with open arms, with no cause for red-faced guilt or lame excuses when he arrives. "
Lord, I want to be ready when you come! I want to be watchful and praying, every second of the day...Amen!!!
